A beginning, an end

It has been a difficult fortnight, and after all my work, it comes to this. I have been asked to leave, to seek for the greater good in myself. But not here, my home, the only place I have known in all these years, but to seek myself in the wild. While I should be glad that they still see potential in me, it still feels that, after failing my test, they send me away in shame.

My blademaster gave me this book, that I might keep a log of my journey. As my time here comes to an end, perhaps this book will record my new beginning. Perhaps as this book becomes filled with my thoughts and experiences, so shall I too become filled with the experience necessary to be worthy of the title for which I have trained.

Or perhaps it will end up in some cold ravine beneath my corpse, should some dragon come upon me before I have found myself.

More to come when I have my wits about me.
